Step 1: Collect Activities

The app is about keeping track of how you spend your time: Who was it done for, what was the project, what was done, when, and for how long. The first step is to simply take out your phone, start the app (tap 1) and then press the add button (tap 2).

The Clear Speech iOS apps were authored by Judy Gilbert and developed by Cambridge University Press (iTunes link). As Press employee, I facilitated the software specification with Judy and Editorial, and oversaw the design and development process. The apps provide excellent listening practice for English learners through fun games: Ball Toss, Syllable Ball, Push the Blob, and Stop or Flow.

At the mLearning conference this summer, I led a discussion on how Cambridge University Press coordinates its print and digital production processes. I also participated in a panel on academics and mLearning.

The following presentation discusses the development of educational course materials that coordinate across multiple technologies, including a rubric for pairing technology with educational situations or contexts. It was originally delivered to the 2010 meeting of the International Group of Educational Publishers (IGEP).
